Laser cutting of textile and fabric is fast and precise. The big advantage is that no fraying occurs especially with synthetic materials. Digital design of the pattern
You can digitally design your cutting patterns in a vector program such as Adobe Illustrator, Rhino or Inkscape, or enter manual line patterns in these programs. These programs can then convert these manual cutting patterns into a digital format. If you are satisfied with your design drawings, it is very simple. Place the fabric or textile to be cut flat on the laser machine and load the cutting patterns into the laser. Then you start the laser process and the cutting patterns are cut quickly and accurately. A few minutes later, you will have all your patterns ready for further processing.
Used laser machine
In the above example, a CO2 laser machine with a somewhat larger surface has been used so that the entire fabric can be placed flat at once. In this example, a MQ1590 used this machine has a work bed of 150 x 90 cm. It is also possible to buy this machine in a version with a vision system, so that the cut-out or engraving can be done from a pattern already incorporated in the fabric (weave pattern). If speed is important then the use of a high-speed CO2 laser machine a good choice for this application. This results in a speed gain of around 30% for textile and fabric.
