A mirror laser engraving is possible with a CO2 laser or a fiber laser. The resolution of a fiber laser is a lot higher, so this produces a nicer picture, especially with photos. The process is simple: the image or vector drawing is loaded into the laser software, then the correct laser power and speed are selected and the mirror is engraved from the back. This removes the shiny silver layer locally. Logos and texts can be engraved a lot faster on a mirror than images. At the end of the process, the silver dust has to be removed and the laser engraved mirror is ready. The great thing about this technique is that the material on the smooth glass side of the mirror is not affected, and can therefore be cleaned like any other mirror.

Our expectation is that most applications of mirror laser engraving are to apply a logo to the mirror or a personalized text. Nice to read every morning: "are you awake tiger already!" The CO2 laser is in this case one MQ6040 in an 80W version, this is the lightest machine with a transparent valve so that the workpiece is clearly visible during the laser process.
