The average life of a laser tube strongly depends on the type, quality, temperature, laser power used or mechanical stress. MetaQuip supplies spare Laser tube for CO2 laser with different laser powers. It is important that you select a tube for the power that suits your CO2 laser machine as the rest of the machine is adapted to the laser power.
What is the lifespan of my laser tube?
If you use a laser tube in your CO2 laser machine for engraving or cutting materials, for example, it is important to keep an eye on the lifespan of the laser tube. A laser tube generally has a limited lifespan and will become less efficient over time or fail altogether.
How long a laser tube lasts depends on various factors, such as the type of laser tube, the intensity of use and the quality of the laser tube. In general, CO2 laser tubes have a lifespan of about 2,000 to 10,000 hours, depending on the quality of the tube.
How do I know that I need to replace my CO2 laser tube?
There are several signs that may indicate that your laser tube needs to be replaced. This can include:
- Decreased performance: The laser tube produces less power or less accurate cuts than before.
- Decrease in beam brightness: The beam becomes weaker and less bright.
- Longer warm-up time: The time it takes to warm up the laser tube increases.
- Flickering light beam: The light beam flickers during use.
- Discoloration of the laser tube: Discolorations or cracks are visible on the outside of the laser tube.
If you notice any of these signs, it's probably time to replace the laser tube. It is important to carry out regular maintenance and keep an eye on the lifespan of the laser tube to prevent unnecessary downtime of your machine and to guarantee the quality of your work.

Warranty on laser tube for CO2 laser machines
For a laser tube for a CO2 laser machine, the following applies with regard to warranty:
- The supplier tests these laser tubes at 80% power continuously in lab conditions, constant temperature.
- With these test conditions, a theoretical lifespan of 1500 - 2000 hours (40W & 60W tube) and 6000 to 8000 hours (80-100-130-150 W tube) is achieved.
- In actual use, this lifetime will be shorter, because of the following deviating operating conditions compared to the previously described test conditions of the supplier:
- the tube is often switched on / off
- the tube is not used on continuous 80%
That is why these hours, under normal use conditions, have been translated by MetaQuip to respectively:
- 6 months for the 40 & 60 Watt laser tubes
- 9 months for the 80-100-130-150 Watt laser tubes
The above guarantees are based on installation and adjustment by an experienced MetaQuip technician in a MetaQuip machine. On laser tubes that MetaQuip delivers to customers using the laser tube going to install it yourself, MetaQuip does not provide a guarantee.
These laser tubes are guaranteed to work with MetaQuip CO2 machines, but probably also with a large number of other machines. MetaQuip takes no responsibility for this. Laser tubes cannot be returned.
