MetaQuip Laser Machines
In essence, we divide our laser machines into 4 categories:
How does a laser machine work?
LASER is an acronym and stands for “Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation”. In simpler words, light particles (photons) that are charged with current emit energy in the form of light. This light is bundled into a beam.
All lasers consist of three components:
- An external pump source
- The active laser medium
- The resonator.
The pump source directs external energy to the laser.
The active laser medium is located inside the laser. Depending on the design, the lasing medium may consist of a gas mixture (CO2 laser machines), a crystal body (YAG laser) or glass fibers (fiber laser). Of low power fiber lasers allow you to laser engrave of, among other things, metals, with high power fiber lasers allow you to laser cut metals. When energy is supplied to the lasing medium by the pump, it radiates energy in the form of radiation.
The active laser medium is located between two mirrors, the “resonator”. One of these mirrors is a one-way mirror. The radiation of the active laser medium is amplified in the resonator. At the same time, only a certain radiation can leave the resonator through the one-way mirror. This bundled radiation is the laser radiation. Source wiki.
Properties of a laser beam: monochrome and high coherence
Laser radiation has three basic properties:
- Monochrome. This means that the radiation consists of only one wavelength.
- High coherence and also phase coherence.
- The waves of the laser are approximately parallel due to the coherence
These properties allow laser light to be used in many ways of modern material processing. The intensity is preserved for a long time by the coherence and can be focused even further by lenses. The laser beam hits the surface of the material and is absorbed. This is how he heats the material. This heat generation allows the material to be removed or completely evaporated. For example, it is possible to laser engrave, laser mark or laser cut a large number of materials.
Different materials react differently to different wavelengths. For example, a wavelength of 10.6 micrometers is used for CO2 laser machines and a wavelength of 1064nm for fiber lasers.
CO2 Laser Machines
CO2 laser machines are suitable for engraving a large number of materials (for metal engraving, you generally need a fiber laser machine!) And laser cutting. Think of a large number of plastics, wood, leather, paper, cardboard and so on. You will find a complete list here.
CO2 LITE2 DESKTOP
Entry model for engraving and light carving. Available in 40W and 60W.
Completely renewed!
CO2 PRODUCTION SERIES
Work surface from 60 x 40 cm to 150 x 90 cm and laser powers from 60 to 150W. Automatic height adjustment.
Fiber laser engraving machines – laser engraving of (precious) metals
Fiber lasers are specially designed to quickly engrave or mark on a large number of metals. Think of steel, stainless steel, aluminum, gold, silver, titanium, copper and so on. This is not possible with a standard CO2 laser. In addition, the speed and resolution of a fiber laser are much higher than if a CO2 laser machine were to be used. Applications: engraving in metals, type numbers, logos, barcodes, QR codes but also very useful for jewelers because of short changeover times to a different design.
Open fiber lasers
Maximum accessibility, also engraving larger objects quickly, but you should take laser safety precautions yourself, such as laser glasses and the like.
Closed fiber lasers
Maximum safety for your operator, when the laser is on, the operator can never be exposed to laser light.

High-power fiber laser machines - laser cutting of (precious) metals
MetaQuip has a number of fiber laser cutting machines for laser cutting of metal in its portfolio. Qualitatively these machines can compete with metal cutters from large German laser parties, but at a significantly lower purchase cost and during production these costs remain considerably lower due to the high reliability. From 500-6kW for cutting thick metal. The big advantage of fiber laser metal cutting is that no further processing is required.
