During the laser engraving of metal, such as stainless steel and aluminum, we prefer to work with an open table model. The advantage of this machine is that you can easily install small, but also large objects underneath and see what happens. For most of the objects we mark, we use an attack so that every object is always in good condition.
It is important, however, that you do not damage your eyes by always looking into the laser light, since the effects are about the same as with welding eyes. You can do few things:

do not look into the laser light.
wear laser glasses
use protective cap.

We usually use a protective cover, so you can quickly and easily with your objects, but with which your eyes are protected. Here is an example of how such a protective cover looks like. Made fairly simple on a laser cutter and especially the color and type of plastic is important. The yellow part acts as a filter for the laser light so that only a fraction of the laser light comes to your eyes.
