July 12, 2022 – We are deeply affected by the death of our colleague, friend and co-founder/owner of MetaQuip: Barry Peet.

What started as a hobby grew into a professional company. Barry helped to lay the foundation of MetaQuip and shaped the company’s DNA with a strong focus on the business, innovation and building our team.

Barry obtained an MSc in Electronic Engineering from the University of Twente. With a background in both ICT and semiconductors, he started his first company in mobile solutions in 1999 during his studies. After 13 years leading this company, Barry co-founded MetaQuip in 2014 initially as a hobby: a playground to experiment with new ideas, new business and new technologies in the makerspace. Step by step this hobby grew into the company MetaQuip is today.

We will miss his energy, enthusiasm, and can-do mentality. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family and relatives. We wish them a lot of strength in this difficult period.
