barcodes laser engraving
With a fiber laser you can easily laser different types of barcodes in a large number of metals, also with automatic numbering. Think of metal, stainless steel, aluminum, steel, gold, silver or titanium. Barcode or barcode is the name for a sequence of lines representing a code that can be read by a scanner. Depending on the coding system, this code can only consist of numbers, or a combination of numbers, letters and punctuation marks.
There are many standards in the area of barcodes. The two main classes are:
- Linear code (bar code in the strict sense); this is a code that is read in 1 dimension.
- Two-dimensional barcode, also written 2D barcode, usually a square monochrome "image" consisting of rather large square pixels that are black or white. The most important standards can easily be distinguished from each other without an aid:
the QR code (with large black-white-black squares in three of the corners, and a smaller fourth near the bottom right corner, but more inside)
the Data Matrix code (with left and below a row of black pixels and right and above a row of pixels that alternate between black and white)
MetaQuip fiber lasers support all these formats.
